NASA NAMES ASTRONAUTS FOR GLENN SHUTTLE MISSION.(MAIN)

HOUSTON -- A mostly veteran crew of astronauts, among them two medical doctors, will join Sen. John Glenn, D-Ohio, aboard the shuttle Discovery Oct. 29, NASA said Friday.

Glenn, who at 77 would become the oldest human to fly in space, made history on Feb. 20, 1962, as the first American to orbit the Earth.

Commanding Discovery's mission will be U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. and test pilot Curt Brown, 41, who will be flying his fifth shuttle mission, his second as skipper. His …
