Fed: Fiji's president an ineffectual puppet - Australian expert

An Australian expert says Fiji's president is simply a puppet of military leader VOREQE
BAINIMARAMA .. and his cancellation of the country's constitution will make his country's
economic problems worse.

President RATU JOSEFA ILOILO abolished the constitution .. assumed all governing power
and sacked all the country's judges yesterday.

The step came after the Court of Appeal's ruling on Thursday that interim government
of Commodore BAINIMARAMA .. installed after a coup in 2006 .. is illegal.

Professor BRIJ LAL of the Australian National University says the man's a puppet ..

more than 80 years old .. ineffective and ineffectual and in ill health.

Professor LAL says the president is the one person who is supposed to protect and respect
the constitution .. but became the man who abrogated it.
